Missoula's Choice Local Photographer - Specializing in Weddings, Events, and Portrait Photography!

Fav from today's unexpected shoot with me and pearls and yes, the red lipstick. Not my usual look but I had a great time shooting myself because my 12 o'clock cancelled. - If only I was a size two, this would've been a great pin-up shoot opp for me. lol. thanks for viewing.

Soua & Nou’s little bundle of joy

Ber and I drove out to Spokane today to see him. He was born yesterday at 5-6am time frame. Little guy couldn’t wait to come out into the world so decided to come couple weeks early. He can’t leave the hospital until a couple weeks or so because he hasn’t matured (internally I believe) to understand how to eat. lol. So the little line you see tucked into his nostrils is a little feeding tool. He also doesn’t have enough body fat yet to sustain his body so he’ll likely freeze unless kepted in their little heating incubator thing. Anyways, just wanted to share pics from our day. Long drive back to get to work.. grr. Luckily no work tomorrow. MLK day, but you know – the Newspaper never closes, it’s just that I worked the weekend shift that I get it off. Nighty night.

First Night Missoula, Montana

Missoula is unique for it’s little events that involve the whole community. Since Ber and I do not have children yet, we’re always hesitant to attend all the events because many of them involve children activities or are really there for a family to enjoy but I will say that First Night, Frist Friday, other musical/art appreciation events like that are still pretty amazing to attend. I love Missoula for that!

We didn’t get buttons for the First Night event this year because some of his cousin’s threw a pot luck poker party for New Year’s Eve but we did step out to see the ice carving by the UM culinary arts team. It was done at the lawn of the court house yesterday afternoon and in the evening it was litted up and it was nice that Ber was ok to go there in the afternoon with me and then later that evening. I’ve been a a bit busy these last few weeks with holiday photo sessions and then just family events taht I hadn’t had time to update many photos for Missoula Moment so he thought it’d be a great idea to go see and so we did. It’s super amazing to see them go at the ice with chisels and irons and other odd end tools.

We took dj out walking in the Cara’s park area and by the Clarkfork too. I got a couple cool pictures of him playing with ice by the river. He loves the water and loves fetching (well fetching when Ber tells hims to) so he couldn’t get enough of the ice blocks Ber was throwing into the river.

Today is a lazy day filled with edits and other catching up of things to do. Half the day was wasted though sleeping in like any other person who celebrated New Year’s Eve with a count down. We make spring rolls for the potluck yesternight so that’s what we had for brunch today.

Still thinking about resolutions. Can I get back to you? Ok – that’s it for now. t.c.

Day of the Dead Parade

Missoula is so weird and cultured in its own way! Have never went out to this event before because of weather conditions or prior engagements but tonight I was free so stepped out to it and wow – it’s great fun and what a great turnout.

I keep thinking about I wish I had kids to bring to these things because I bet they’d enjoy it so much.. ahah – what’s wrong with me? I have a case of the maternal ticking clock! ahah.

I think I have to learn some more night time shooting techniques outdoors, after tonight’s night out. I keep thinking that a flash would do but I know that the tripod brings a better sense of the atmosphere and then I try and incorporate both and still it isn’t the best. To top it off – there were lots of moving subjects and no ceilings to bounce light off of. Back to the drawing board it is.
