One Year Since my tragedy…

Today marks the one year since my external hard drive crashed with 401GBs worth of business and personal information/data/pictures. It was a hard time for me because I remember launching nn-dp.com at the time and was psyched share it with friends and family until of course all that hard work went down the drain.

If you know the story – fortunately I had some pieces of work published with the Missoulian in the Missoula Relocation Guide which is a glossy publication therefore some of those pieces were saved. Also – I had a couple of random cds of info from before I had purchased the hard drive of things before 2004-05 that I was able to recover here and there but everything in my growing years from 04-08 was gone.

I would like to take this time to thank some of my wonderful friends and family for helping me build my portfolio and just being there for me in the last year. I don’t think I would have been able to make it to where I am today without the support of many… Now – I burn everything to dvds, back up online, and to different hard drives just to make sure business and personal don’t get lost again. You can just imagine 401GBs of stuff ranging from documents of thoughts to high resolution images of once in a life time travels gone… That only means one thing – I must go back and see those places again.

I must say of all the things that crashed with the drive that I miss most was my pictures from travels to China. I plan to go back there someday again but not likely in the next couple of years. Luckily – I made a cd of the “posed” photos (of course not the photo journalistic ones… grr) for my parents and those pictures were recovered but all the other ones gone. The other thing that I have to start working on and haven’t had time to get to either was a 300 page started autobiography. I had over read over and over and added to this thing since about 2003 and was sad to see it gone forever. Once things slow down a bit of course – I will get back to it.

I’m happy to share the first set of photos I took from last year after the tragedy:

These were taken at the Bison Range on a trip with my girlfriends to see if we could capture anything and everything. Since then, only great things have happened to me. I’m truly bless for the opportunities that have been given to me within the last year. Can’t wait to start shooting like crazy again now that a small portfolio has been developed. Visit http://flickr.com/nn-dp to see my collections since last year.

Looking forward to getting caught in a moment with you. Thanks!

My life would suck without you.

So yesterday I was looking for a good quality version of the Kelly Clarkson video for her new song on youtube and of course couldn’t find it (found it today, kindda cute and very subtle – love kelly of course) but what I did find was this cool version by David Choi… and ahhh… why didn’t I wait for him. hehehe – he’s my other half! hehehe, just kidding, but he’s really quite amazing and all over the place. Just look for yourself.

Then of course I went to his website http://www.davidchoimusic.com/ and downloaded his version and listened to more. Guy is great – should get somewhere in mainstream. I’m a sucka for Chris Brown (his song Run It was playing at the club that one night… ahaha, and since then I have melted away with With You and Forever)… and on that note – there’s a ballad version (sorta) of Forever on David’s page with a collaboration with Jasmin and some other talented Asian Music Artists.

Kollaboration - the movement that put it together is awesome too. I’m just kindda sad that Missoula isn’t a big town and we can’t host any kind of event like that here or it would be totally out of the way for them to come but one of these day I’d like to see one of those shows some day, maybe I’ll plan to go out of my way to get to one.

I haven’t been very inspired lately because I’ve been trying to get all the logistics behind nn-dp figured out and so once all that is done – I hope to do more!! Nighty night.
