Rainy Days in Missoula

I live on the edge of a storm
I run through the rain to survive
I long for the end of a rainbow
I see pink skies above me
The clouds are moving away now
I live on the edge of a storm

Nou & Soua’s Baby Shower & Missoula Hmong Women Circle

So excited and yes – definitely can’t wait for Soua and Nou’s baby. The baby’s due in February so yesterday we had a baby shower for them. I got them a diaper bag and filled it with goodies and boy did I have a ball when I had to go out and shop for the baby. Made me all “mommy” happy, so I can imagine how crazy I will go when it’s my turn (in the far future).

There were games and more and then into the night we started talking about the Hmong women in town and how it would be great to have a small group since we need each other in more ways then we can imagine. So it is – we’re starting a group. A part of the group will consist of a sewing Saturday (for the most part I can make unless I have a wedding), and the other part is a small membership fee that will just ultimate go to use for paying for the misc. things that we need for the holiday parties we always throw.

So today, we headed out to Joanne Fabrics and found ourselves a bunch of fabric and some patterns and our newest sewing project is to sew “ball-gown” like dresses for our Valentine Dance that we’re planning to throw in February for the families. It should be fun, just a night for all the couples to enjoy without kids. I first had the idea that I’d sew a dark red wine dress that poofed out with a weird wrapped top then while walking round Joanne, I stumbled upon a little girl’s pink tutu and just fell in love. So I thought – why not sew a princess gown for me, I’ve never been a “princess” before – so I’m super excited. Of course, we’re all these women who have no big experience in this but hope that we’ll all learn something out of it so look for updates on the dress. Oh – but yes, one of the ladies does have a little more experience than we all do so we’re hoping she’d help us out as much as she could.

So I did spend a whole day with the ladies today and now – Ber and I are going to go watch AVATAR! Did you know that you can call the box office and check if there are still seats available and even though it’s sold out – you can still purchase tickets at Fandango.com or by calling 1-800-FANDANGO? Well – now you know.. I think how it works is that the local theater pre-sells a bunch of tickets to Fandango – and then they try to sell them all but if tickets don’t get sold by a certain time then the theater will be able to sell it so that means even though it’s “sold out” there may still be tickets by Fandango!! So we got our tickets from fandango. hehe. Will tell you all about it soon. Good night!

I love Kelly. I just love her… from a moment like this to never again… I think she was born to be a singer. Kindda sucked that her last album didn’t have that great of a review and I can say that there were some songs on there that weren’t techniquely music to my ears but she was on the right track with lyrics and where she was going. I can’t wait to hear what the rest of her new album as in store. Today as I was driving home from work – I couldn’t focus I guess cause her song came on. I was like “who is this? I need to get this song…” then I woke up and realized I was pulling a 45 on the highway… ahaha.

My life would suck without you is her new hit single. I can’t embed the youtube video but you can go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h09_1qdkFIA to listen to it.

On another note, Ber and I have been noticing that a lot of these new songs that are hitting the billboards kindda all sound like “Pink”. Don’t you think… at first hear, I thought that Britney’s Womanizer, Christina’s Super Girl, and Kelly’s My Life… were all by Pink. Pink is of course my other favorite singer. I love her voice – it has that deep wounded feeling to it. You know – the kind where her heart and soul is coming out. OooOoo, my latest favorite from her too is I don’t believe you.

I’m so popped out. My friends can never go anywhere with me in my car. hahaha.
